Deutschland, Deutschland, Uber Deutschland

Why hello you friendy folk, mighty fietsmann Kat here! We are currently on The Netherlands border in a village called Midwolde just outside Groningen. We are well, but suffering from ridiculously vivid random dreams that our morning routine now consists of reciting them before we get up. But otherwise all is well.

On Wildlife:
We still haven't seen a single squirrel, which is freaking us out slightly. We have encountered about a million rabid green caterpillars, that endlesses bomb our tents from trees and wiggle their ways in our hair, food and clothes. It's okay though cos soon they will be beautiful butterflies...As for birds, we regularly see herons, hear woodpeckers, and also hear these random ones that sound like Maffu. Lovely.

Tom doesn't like cities.

katwijk von bad

Yo yo yo wassup! It's Tom in da house! OK, so let's get y'all updated. Yesterday we cycled about 82 kilometres until we finally found a hotel to stay in. Unfortunately the camping site we went to was the only 1 for quite a distance and it was only chalets etc... no tents. A plus was that we got a breakfast and got to watch BBC One, news at 10. Exactly what I predicted with the election and I'm happy for the libdems. Hopefully they can get some important shizzle through.

The current campsite we're in is situated at the title of this post. It's a great campsite with a beautiful sand beach. Very touristy. We went through the hague to get here, which was actually pretty decent. Kat's whining at me to get a tan and stop hiding from the sun after it raped me before. We're going to visit the beach sometime later and we'll take lots of photos since we've been seeing alot of cool stuff but not posting any of it for you cus we're just concentrating on getting to the next place. We'll be in Amsterdam soon and kat is insisting on visiting the sex museum. Great...

P.S. It's gooooooood-ahhh!

Cya all!!

It's only a few, netbook is getting low on juice!

Time Travel

It feels like we have been gone for weeks, but in reality it has only been one! Sorry we haven't posted for a while (as if anyone actually checks), but it has been increasingly difficult to ninja wifi in the the middle of nowhere. I doubt these farmers and sheep even know what an email is!

We have traveled all the way through Belgium and we are now in the depths of The Netherlands close to Rotterdam. Personally, I loved Belgium, it was really stunning (well at least the route was). Tom on the otherhand prefers his first glimpses of The Netherlands better. The cycle route is pretty awesome, very well sinposted, but now where we are there are too many signs for too many random places. Over the past few days we have managed 50-60km a day making us knackered and falling asleep as soon as we reach a campsite, normally around 7pm.

I'm gonna upload some photos on facebook as it is quicker, I'll make a link for you guys here.

I'll try to update again asap! Love Kat

Day 1 - Dunkerque

Well what a day...we were dropped off at Dover, a lovely town if I might add, by daddy dearest at midday and without too much of an issue we get on and off the Dunkerque ferry. Let's get the bullshit out of the way,...I bloody hate Dun-frikkin-kque. And I hate France. In built family-centric issue I feel. We managed 30km of biking today, granted not all of it was in the right direction but we do feel like we are getting into the swing of it. I hope our legs are not too jellified tomorrow. In terms of what we saw, we can't really say a lot, mostly fields, a few broken windowed houses and some dirty factories. Anyway, I blame it all on the poor quality Action Man compass I was attempting to orienter with; possibly also the lack of a map of the port town. Ergh I'm tired and though the internet is free I really cba with it! Over and out!! x

From His Royal Majesty, and God-Emperor of Mankind Tom,

OMG OMG!!11one!eleven! I'm gonna die, save meeeeee. Bleh! Needed to get that out of my system. What I was trying to say was, we leave tomorrow... to France. My primary objective is to GTFO of France as soon as possible because of an irrational Francophobia that has come over me. I love France (compared to the normal contempt the English usually have) ever since studying their history at A-level. I've also been to Paris and I loved it.. but still my primary concern is to evade capture by the Frenchman.

All joking aside, I'm really looking forward to this little sabbatical. Living at home, having a job where I was gonna be laid off eventually, having no lover babe, and the monotonous goings of everyday life I decided one Monday morning to have a quest. The goal being, to get experience of doing something. I've got no reason not to; I have the savings saved, the commitments nonexistent and a desire to see something apart from Hertfordshire.

As an added bonus, it's election day and tomorrow we'll discover who will win. My prediction is the Conservatives. Only now do you understand (as Emperor Palpatine would say) :). When I come back I'll find my beloved Albion, my beloved Britannia changed. It'll be just like when Saruman joined forces with Sauron and created his mighty Uruk-hai, messing up Isengard's beauty in the process.

Oh and one more thing to you who vote Conservatives.

Tom passes out once he realises he may actually have to get up off his fat arse and stop watching MMA on youtube...

Getting Ready To Go

After almost a year of preparation and planning, we are finally going on tour. We will cycle from Dunkirk in France into Belgium, through The Netherlands, continuing through north Germany until we reach Scandinavia where we will cycle through Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

When asked what we were looking forward to the most, both of us said Norway without a doubt. It's going to be awesome, and not only that the hills and fjords will be a great challange to p00n.
